Volunteer Opportunities

If you are looking for volunteer opportunities in the Denver area, Hands of The Carpenter is a great option! Volunteer with us to help single moms and other women in need stay on the road towards self-sufficiency.

We have volunteer crews assisting with basic vehicle maintenance to help our clients avoid costly repairs and breakdowns. For those who prefer less grease in their lives, we have lots of other volunteer opportunities available as well!

Pit Crews

Pit Crews are volunteer teams that perform simple repairs and maintenance in the evenings or on Saturdays to help our single moms and women in need. You can build a team of your own or simply join an existing one! Each Pit Crew has a team lead and 3 – 4 additional volunteers. This is a great volunteer opportunity for auto mechanics and auto technicians, and especially perfect if you’re a retired auto mechanic looking to volunteer and make a difference.

Time commitment: 3 or 4 hours per shift, 1 – 2 times per month in the evenings or on Saturdays

Volunteer Drivers

Do you like to drive? We have ongoing needs for volunteer drivers to help pick up donated vehicles, take them for emissions testing or prepare them for our clients by filling up the gas and getting the cars detailed during the daytime.

Time commitment: 1 hour minimum, ongoing need

UPDATED 3/30/20:
As an essential business, Hands is open!

Operating with the highest level of care, our team is continuing to serve women who come for help and hope.

You can have an immediate impact through financial gifts, or offering a vehicle as a gift in our vehicle donation program.

Single women in need are still needing to get to the store, get to doctor’s appointments and provide for their families. 60% of the women in Hands’ two year repair, maintenance and education program have reported having lost a job, had reduced hours/pay or their business has closed all together. 40% suggest that their vehicle currently needs maintenance or repair. Transportation is a necessity – Please be a champion for them today!
