Soroya – An Up & Coming Business Leader

Soraya is a single mother of two who is striving to better her family’s life through education and work. Last October Soraya came to Hands seeking repairs on her 2005 Accord. After years of using RTD to get around, she finally saved enough to purchase her car. She was thrilled to have the ability to easily travel to classes for Business Management at Metropolitan State University, to her work internship at Habitat for Humanity, and to safely transport her children. Unfortunately, the Hands team told Soraya her vehicle needing a large number of repairs to be safe on the road. She was invited to apply to get another vehicle through Hands’ Good Neighbor Garage (GNG) placement program.

One of Hands GNG partners, Phil Long Ford, prepared and provided a 2008 Ford Edge. On December 23, 2020 Soraya received the car at Phil Long. The “new” car will enable her to build on her AA degree in Business Administration, look for new employment now that her internship has ended, and care for her children.

Soraya believes that Hands is “heart-warming” and “is making a difference in women’s lives and the world.” She is grateful for Hands and Phil Long’s partnership in placing her with a safe vehicle, noting “it is so important for us to help each other.”

We look forward to seeing how far Soraya goes on life’s highway to success!
