Ruth – A Loving Life-Giver

Today, we bring you a heartwarming story of resilience, faith, and the power of community support. Meet Ruth – not just any employee at Littleton Public School (LPS), but a beacon of hope for many children with medical needs and disabilities. As a paraprofessional, she has devoted her life to these children, ensuring they never feel alone in their journey.

Outside of LPS, Ruth is a proud mother of four amazing children – one spreading love in Ecuador through mission work, another embarking on their college journey, and two still at home, filling their house with laughter and joy. Her eyes sparkle with pride every time she speaks of them, and they are the driving force behind her unwavering spirit.

Life, however, wasn’t always this smooth for Ruth. Recently, she faced a challenging period when her youngest daughter’s medical conditions peaked, and her vehicle broke down simultaneously. Can you imagine the helplessness of not being able to visit your sick child in the hospital or even make it to your job on time? For Ruth, this was a three-month-long reality where she had to rely on public transport and the goodwill of her friends.

Thanks to a referral from Love INC and your generous support, Ruth received a Subaru Outback in July 2023 from our Hands East location. This wasn’t just a car; it was a lifeline. Two weeks later, Ruth had to spend three weeks at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio with her daughter. Having this reliable vehicle ensured that she could be there by her daughter’s side, ensuring her safety and well-being. The ripple effects of this gift continue, making daily tasks like grocery shopping, attending work, and frequent hospital visits less burdensome for Ruth.

When asked about her experience with the Hands team, Ruth couldn’t stop singing praises. “They are absolutely wonderful and terrific! They walk with you, ensuring you’re never alone in the journey – even after the vehicle becomes yours. Truly a blessing!”

At Hands, stories like Ruth’s inspire us to keep moving forward. Her passion for helping children, her dedication as a mother, and her unwavering faith in the face of adversity is a testament to the human spirit. Thank you, Champions, for making this possible. Together, we are more than just a community; we are a family, always ready to lend a hand.
