Rose – The Best Day Involves Having Reliable Transportation

Rose is a single mom of three children – two boys, age 18 and 16, and a daughter, who is age 6. She works two jobs to support her family, one as a dishwasher at a Golf Course, and the other as an independent contractor courier driver. Rose works these jobs so that she can spend time with her children, and get them to school and doctor’s appointments.

In addition, she cares for her mother and attends an intern program through TANF. She is passionate about criminal justice and wants to work in this field long term to provide for her children and herself.

Rose describes the “best day” as one where she doesn’t have to rely on other means of transportation to get her family where they need to go. And having a vehicle that gives her the independence allows her to do more for her family.

We’re ecstatic to report that thanks to the wonderful Hands Community, Rose was placed with a 2008 Toyota Highlander in July 2021!

She says, “having a vehicle will help me to continue to work as an independent contractor and transport my children to school.”

Thanks to everyone who helps Hands of The Carpenter provide hope through transportation! Your generosity via gifts, car donations, volunteer hours and more allow us to reach more local women in need.
