As her two youngest daughters approach high school graduation, Niki’s determination to succeed has led her to remarkable personal growth and achievements.
In 2020, Niki connected with CrossPurpose, a partner nonprofit of Hands of The Carpenter (Hands). Through their medical training program, Niki landed a fulfilling career as a Medical Assistant at at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center. Her pursuit of knowledge didn’t stop there; Niki also completed a financial education course, which paved the way for her to receive support from Hands.
CrossPurpose promotes Hands as a platform for supporters to donate cars. This unique partnership allows CrossPurpose to accumulate credits, which can be used to offset car repair expenses or vehicle placement for clients like Niki. Previously, she and her children relied on RTD or ride share services, incurring exorbitant monthly expenses.
In March 2023, Niki’s life took a significant turn when she was placed in a 2007 Toyota Camry. With her newfound freedom, she no longer stresses over high transportation costs or anxiously waits for rides. Hands continues to support Niki by teaching her about responsible car care and ownership.
Niki’s inspiring journey is a testament to the power of perseverance and community support. Through her unwavering determination and the help of organizations like CrossPurpose and Hands, Niki’s dreams of success for her family are now becoming a reality.
