Makayla – Knowing What’s Important In Life

Makayla is a single mom of 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl from the ages of 17 to 7 years old. She is a motivated single mom who supports her children and encourages them to be the best version of themselves. Makayla originally came to Hands in July 2021 when she was working part-time and qualified for the TLC Program to obtain an older vehicle, but was more interested in the Lift UP Program. She waited for a full-time position to open up at her current employer, and in September 2021, Makayla was offered a full-time position and returned to Hands to apply for the Lift UP Program, where she was interested in receiving the benefits of the long-term maintenance and repair program.

We’re excited to share that on 2/24/22, Makayla was placed in a 2006 Honda CRV vehicle which she says is the perfect size for her family. She is excited to have a vehicle that she purchased and now owns. She said, “I look forward to being a part of a great program that helps keeps us safe on the road.” Since obtaining her car, Makayla experienced some deaths in her extended family and has been considering the future of her work career. Her main focus is on caring for her children. Her vehicle gives her the ability to work, pick up the kids from school, and spend more time with them. Makayla knows what’s important in life for her.
