Katherine – A Breath of Fresh Air

Katherine was referred to Hands from one of our referral agencies in January, 2021. She was so excited to hear that she was approved for the vehicle placement program. Katherine provides and cares for her 4-year-old son while working full time at a department store. As a parent, priorities change in your life and now you are responsible for a child’s upbringing. She had recently left an abusive relationship in 2020 and had been working with the same agency to gain her independence of not having to rely on this person to use his vehicle for transportation or other essentials.

The idea of having her own vehicle was like taking in a “breath of fresh air“. We are excited to share that Katherine was placed into a 2007 Hyundai Elantra in March of 2021. Katherine says, “I appreciate what Hands does to support me and other women on their journey to freedom and for that, I am so grateful to Hands.”
