Jamesetta – Grandmother Supporting Her Grandchild

Jamesetta is a single grandmother who is caring for her granddaughter, Julianna. She had sought out assistance from Denver Human Services, Kinship and Family Tree to assist her in getting the help needed for Julianna. She did not expect to be raising grandchildren at her age, but knew that she was the only viable option for her granddaughter to have a home. She loves her granddaughter and had made provisions by moving into a place so that she can have her own room.

At the time, she was able to afford the cost for a two bedroom but with rental fees rising, she has had to move again into an affordable place. This depleted her savings, and her vehicle was needing repairs, but could not afford the repairs on her own. When she found out about Hands through Catholic Charities, and applied for vehicle repairs.

Jamesetta’s need for vehicle repairs had turned out far more than she imagined. The vehicle was not worth the expense of the repairs based on the value of the vehicle. It was recommended for her to apply for the vehicle placement program from our Automotive Services Department, and was approved for vehicle placement.

We’re excited to announce that on 2/11/2022, Hands of the Carpenter placed her in 2005 Honda CRV. She was jumping with joy and excitement and feels Hands is such a blessing. She appreciates all that Hands has done for her and would recommend our program to single moms who cross her path.
