Erica: Inspiring Mother of Three Young Kids

Erica first applied for a vehicle in December of 2018. She is divorced from a very difficult marriage – living with her brother with twins who are 4 yrs old (1 boy, 1 girl) and a 4 month old son.

Erica had been on the wait list and called letting us know her 4 month old son was diagnosed with a serious case of bronchitis which required him to go to Children’s Hospital to receive deep suction treatments. The doctor said her son could no longer wait out in the cold winter weather at the bus stop – which is how Erica got everywhere.

We were able to place Erica with a Mazda MPV in March of 2019!

Single women in need come to Hands who are concerned for their families’ well-being because of the lack of a reliable car. Financial gifts are the “fuel” that make stories like Erica’s possible.

If you’ve joined in this important work with previous contributions – Thank you! And thanks for your consideration of support today to provide HOPE while solving and preventing vehicle crisis issue for single women in need who are striving to be economically self-sufficient.

UPDATED 3/30/20:
As an essential business, Hands is open!

Operating with the highest level of care, our team is continuing to serve women who come for help and hope.

You can have an immediate impact through financial gifts, or offering a vehicle as a gift in our vehicle donation program.

Single women in need are still needing to get to the store, get to doctor’s appointments and provide for their families. 60% of the women in Hands’ two year repair, maintenance and education program have reported having lost a job, had reduced hours/pay or their business has closed all together. 40% suggest that their vehicle currently needs maintenance or repair. Transportation is a necessity – Please be a champion for them today!
