Danae – Excited to Be Part of Hands

Danae is a single mom raising 5 children on her own from the ages of 2 years to 15 years old. Danae’s experiences as a child led her to help others in need. One incredible example is that she chose to foster two children, and raise them alongside with her own three children.

But transportation is a barrier for Danae. She relies heavily on bus transportation or asks for rides from her sister when needed. One of the children she cares for requires frequent visits to the doctor’s office for health reasons. It has been difficult to get her to appointments without reliable transportation. The children also go to two different schools. Her sister has provided transportation, but that arrangement wasn’t sustainable. Danae does her best to help and walk to and from work or home after dropping off the children at school.

Danae - Single Mom

Danae works in the administration office at the Denver Human Services, which she enjoys because she is able to help others!

Danae found Hands through a member of the Red Rocks church. She applied for the program and was accepted. We’re excited to share that on March 3, 2022, Danae was placed in a 2004 Nissan Altima. Danae says, “I’m is excited to be in this program, and to have a reliable and trusted source to bring my vehicle in for repairs. This is a place where people care about you and your vehicle.”
