Amber – Happy Tears

Amber came to Hands of The Carpenter (Hands) through a referral from nonprofit partner, Bridge of Hope (BOH), as she was putting her life together after leaving a bad relationship, ended up homeless, and was sleeping in her vehicle. She is a sweet young woman with such a light of hope in her eyes. She is truly putting in the work to better her and her kids’ lives. Amber is a mother of two, ages 8 and 4, and is working as a patient referral specialist – a job she loves. She shared that the only thing constant through the hard times was her work, for which she is super thankful. She is also grateful to BOH for getting her into stable housing and connected to Hands.

Unfortunately, her car broke down and was not worth repairing. She needed a vehicle to maintain her employment and care for her children. Hands had an available car that was perfect for her family. On June 20th, she was able to take a test drive in her new 2007 Toyota Rav4. She was so thrilled about the vehicle she came back with happy tears and was ready to finalize the placement with Crystal and go over the specifics of the Lift UP program for the car’s on-going repairs and maintenance. On July 10th Amber came back to complete the paperwork and pick up the Rav4. She shared that she is so grateful for the opportunity to purchase her car through the Lift UP placement program and is hopeful that her life’s road is all up from here.
